THE HOT AND COLD STAMPING DIFFERENCE
The incorporation of hot stamping provides a clear and value-added
differentiation in shelf appeal. The stamped décor creates a visual interpretation of the products, fully aligned with brand objectives. Hot
stamping is especially suitable for ‘emotionalizing’ products. The various
visual and tactile effects of foil stamping invoke curiosity and invite the
buyer to purchase the products. Embossed and structured stampings
further enhance the creation of an emotional quality to a product.
The cold foil process is so cost effective that foil decoration is more
feasible than ever for mass-produced goods. Low initial costs at the
printer level and the process capabilities of cold foiling have driven
the utilization of cold foil products. KURZ ‘ products include over-printable cold foils for the web and sheet-fed markets.
The world is quickly becoming digital, and our Brand Enhancement
division is quickly paving the way in integrating traditional foil
decoration with functional solutions for brand protection and interactive communication. We give you greater design flexibility and
the opportunity to use refined elements like hot-stamped logos or
holographic images as digital gateways to a wider brand world.
Through Brand Enhancement, Kurz offers a simple and comprehensive
concept for brand communication, increased attractiveness and protection against counterfeiting and is an essential part in enriching your
brand strategy by introducing custom analytic possibilities with mobile
marketing, tracking potential and anti-counterfeiting protection.
NEW DIGITAL CAPABILITIES
DIGITAL METAL® from KURZ offers the complete solution:
Machine + Software + Foil. DIGITAL METAL combines digital
printing with a foil transfer
process to create metallized
surface decors, for small
production volumes or
unique prints. The inno-
vative DIGITAL METAL®
enhancement process fea-
tures versatility of design
and makes it an attractive
alternative to metallized
paper or cardboard, offer-
ing gold, silver, iridescent
or holographic effects,
even full- and half-shade
effects. Applications range
from full-surface decoration of large areas to enhancement of fine,
delicate designs and cut-outs.
Via DIGITAL METAL, a design is printed directly onto the substrate
with toner or electro-ink; the foil is then applied onto the preprinted
material. The carrier film is detached, and the metallized coating
layers adhere to the toner/electro-ink. A limitless number of color
shades are made possible, via digital or offset printing, through the
exceptional overprinting properties of the foil
